The challenge

College social media runs on very small teams.

At many community and technical colleges, the marketing department is one person, or a small team that is also responsible for the website, admissions materials, events and the president's communications. Social media has to be fed every day, in the college's voice, through enrollment pushes, registration deadlines, graduations and the quiet weeks in between.

When that one person leaves, goes on leave or is still being hired, the channels go silent at exactly the wrong time. And when a college wants to add student ambassadors to the effort, managers need a realistic way to decide how much work students can take on.

What we provide

Content, coverage and tools for the people doing the work.

  • Package I for one-person marketing departments: a steady supply of relevant, ready-to-use social media content written for a college audience
  • Package II as interim support, typically three months, keeping channels active and engaging while a position is vacant or a new hire gets up to speed
  • Onboarding assistance so a new marketing hire inherits a working content rhythm instead of an empty calendar
  • The Social Media Toolkit for Managers, including a social effort calculator that estimates the real workload of each channel and post type
  • Guidance along the way from a team that has worked with colleges on enrollment marketing, paid search and analytics
Client feedback

What college marketing teams say.

"We will be rolling out student ambassador positions this fall with the hopes of having students in roles by mid-semester. While it's a process to get everything in place, your social effort calculator has been invaluable in evaluating how much responsibility students can take on. Such a fantastic tool!"
